About Me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I currently have a private practice in Roseville, California where I specialize in the treatment of individuals, couples, and families.

I believe anyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. Happy, healthy, individuals are open to experience, able to identify and acknowledge their feelings, live in the present, trust their inner urgings and intuitive judgments, and can trust their ability to make decisions. Sometimes, because we are human, we need help getting to this place in our lives. Through a collaborative effort this can be possible for you. I am here to help you on your journey.

My Experience:

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with Psi Chi honors, at California State University, Sacramento along with a Master of Science in Marriage, Family, Child Counseling. I began my career in mental health working with children with Autism. I provided in-home, one-on-one, behavior and language therapy and trained new aids in therapy techniques. I earned my 3,000 internship hours at two prominent non-profit agencies in Placer County. One provided me the opportunity to work within the school system to provide individual, group, and play therapy to children and adolescents. The other gave me ample experience working with a diverse population with a wide variety of problems which included; Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Learning Disorders, Disorders in Childhood and Adolescents, Substance Dependence, Psychotic Disorders, Eating Disorders, Self-harm, Relationship and Career Problems, Grief, Parenting Difficulties, Abuse and Trauma, Domestic Violence, Anger Management, and more. I provided therapy to individuals (adults, children and adolescents), couples and families, along with leading a Parenting Group and a Divorce group. I also filled in for various groups such as Anger Management, Perinatal and Domestic Violence. I have extensive experience working with the Child and Adult System of Care in Placer County and parents and children involved in Child Welfare Services. In addition to providing therapy, I have facilitated in the Human Services Department at a local University.

What to Expect Working With Me:

As a therapist, my belief is that you are not your problem. Your problem is the problem. Making this distinction is important. I also believe you hold the answers inside of you to your problems, but may be having difficulty figuring out how to get the solutions to emerge from within you. Through exploration, problem solving, reflection, resources and support we can find the solutions you seek.

Whether you are seen individually or with your family , I want you to feel heard and validated. I want to challenge you and empower you. I aim to create an environment of trust, support, and mutual respect. I expect you to work as hard on your goals as I will for you, to get you to the place you want to be in life. Ultimately, meeting your therapuetic goals while getting you to a place where you no longer need me.
